Chinese solar inverter manufacturers have introduced a series of price increases, raising expectations of a recovery in photovoltaic supply chain margins. From November 1, 2026, Kehua Digital Energy and other leading companies raised prices by 5% to 15% across their solar inverter and energy storage product lines. Sungrow had announced price adjustments earlier.

Within less than two months, seven of China's top ten inverter manufacturers had implemented price increases, covering residential, commercial and industrial, and utility-scale applications. The solar sector rallied on November 3 as expectations of improved supply chain gross margins strengthened.

What higher prices could mean for margins

The breadth of the increases suggests that pricing changes extend beyond a single application or supplier. For inverter manufacturers, higher selling prices could support gross margins if the increases are reflected in completed sales and are not offset by higher costs. For buyers, they could increase equipment costs, although the effect will depend on the products purchased and the terms of individual transactions.

The stock market rally reflects expectations, not proof that margins have already recovered across the supply chain. The durability of the increases and their effect on actual selling prices, costs and demand will determine how much of the anticipated improvement appears in manufacturers' results.
